Dr. Michael Milton

Dr. Michael A. Milton is a minister of the Gospel.  He serves as President and CEO of “Faith for Living” ministries.

Dr. Milton served as Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer of Reformed Theological Seminary from September of 2010 through May of 2013.

Dr. Milton has also served as President and Professor of Practical Theology of Reformed Theological Seminary, Charlotte, NC.

He served as Senior Pastor of the historic First Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga. He was the 12th pastor there in 173 years.  While there he launched the radio and television outreach called “Faith for Living”.

“Faith for Living” radio and television continues today through the Internet and cable. The television program began airing on NRB Network, Direct TV channel 378, on Mondays at 0830 EST.

Prior to answering the call as a minister of the Gospel, Dr. Milton served sixteen years in the business world (Dow Chemical and Ashland Chemical) and was also a top secret Navy linguist. He interned under D. James Kennedy at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church.  Upon completion of seminary training he planted two churches: Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Overland Park, Kansas; and Kirk O the Isles Church in Savannah, Georgia. He also founded Westminster Academy Christian School in Overland Park and was the administrative head and an adjunct professor in practical theology at Knox Theological Seminary. A graduate of Mid America Nazarene University (Kansas) and Knox Theological Seminary, in 1998 he earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in theology and religious studies from The University of Wales (UK).

Dr. Milton's personal story of moving from orphan and prodigal son to understanding Gods grace and receiving His adoption through Jesus Christ forms a frequent motif for offering Christs healing to a broken generation. Often his sermons are illustrated with songs that he writes, sings, and performs with guitar. An author of 11 books, including an autobiography, What God Starts, God Completes, he has also composed and recorded three musical albums under the Music for Missions label.

In addition to his pastoral work, Dr. Milton holds a commission in the US Army Reserves as a chaplain, a ministry that he continues as an instructor at the US Army Chaplain Center and School. Serving on several boards and active in a number of civic organizations, he also remains involved in preaching and teaching in churches, conferences, and seminaries. Dr. and Mrs. Milton and their son reside in the Charlotte area.
