Dr. Mark Dever

Mark has been serving as pastor of CHBC since September of 1994. With his wife, Connie, and their children, Annie and Nathan, they live and minister on Capitol Hill.

Since his ordination in 1985, he has served on the pastoral staff of four churches, the last, Eden Baptist Church in Cambridge, England, where he served as associate pastor. It was at Cambridge University that Mark received a Ph.D. in church history. Previous degrees include a Masters in Theology from Southern Seminary, a Masters in Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University.

A frequent conference speaker, Mark has been published in the Journal of Ecclesiastical History, Disciple's Study Bible and most recently, he has written Nine Marks of a Healthy Church.
